NHH (The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration), Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law invites applications for positions as Professor/Associate Professor in Management Control/Management Accounting.

Currently the department has 6 full professors, 6 associate professors and 4 assistant professors. In addition, 26 professors and associate professors are affiliated to the department in adjunct positions. The department participates in all degree programs offered by NHH at bachelor, master and doctoral levels, as well as in executive education.

Applicants must have general competence in Management Control/Management Accounting. Within this research area, the department offers a stimulating research environment addressing topics like change in design and use of costing and performance measurement systems in the public and private sector, and what implications such changes have for practice.

The department is also involved in the research program Beyond budgeting, which is a collaboration between Statoil and NHH/SNF/AFF. The program is multidisciplinary and focuses on the link between organizational change, management leadership and the design and use of management accounting systems.

The applicants will be assessed based on an overall evaluation of documented professional competence. Scientific competence will be evaluated in terms of the amount and quality of national and international publications.

Faculty members at the Norwegian School of economics and Business Administration are expected to be good teachers. In assessing the applicants' pedagogical qualifications, the evaluation committee will consider experience in teaching and student supervision, the quality of teaching material produced, and other relevant documentation that demonstrates pedagogical qualifications.

In addition to submitting written documentation, possible appointees will be required to meet for an interview, and to give a trial lecture and/or seminar. The appointee is expected to be involved in teaching and student supervision in degree programs at all levels. At the bachelor level, some teaching is expected to be given in Norwegian.

Salary is negotiable according to Norwegian State Salary Scale for Professor or Associate Professor. The school offers favorable membership in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund, generous research funds for travelling and conference participation, and bonus systems for publication in international refereed journals.

The appointee must comply with the guidelines that apply to the position at any time. The appointee may be required to enroll in a pedagogical course of short duration. A doctoral degree from an accredited institution is required.
