Faculty position as professor in Energy, Natural Resources and Environmental Economics

The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, Department of Finance and Management Science invites application for the position of full professor.

Currently the department has 22 full professors, 13 associate professors and 5 post doctorates. In addition, 12 professors and associate professors are affiliated to the department in adjunct positions. The Department participates in several of the degree programs offered by the School, at the bachelor, master and the doctorate levels, and in a number of executive master programs.

Applicants must have general competence in Management Science or Economics. The department is searching for a professor with a proven record of research and teaching within the fields associated with our international ENE-program, i.e. within Energy, Natural Resources and Environmental Economics. The interdisciplinary program emphasises the economic fundamentals of energy and natural resource value chains, impacts of regulatory schemes on commercial resource development, business/government interactions and strategic responses to more competitive energy and resource markets.

A successful applicant is expected to develop innovative mathematical and quantitative models and optimizing decision support tools addressing today's complex environmental, natural resource, and energy issues relevant for business and society.

The applicants will be assessed based on an overall evaluation of documented professional competence. Scientific competence will be evaluated in terms of the amount and quality of international publications. Applicants with experience in leading and promoting international interdisciplinary research teams and documented skills in raising funds for research will be given preference.

Faculty members at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration are expected to be good teachers. In assessing the applicants' pedagogical qualifications, the evaluation committee will consider experience in teaching and student supervision, the quality of teaching material produced by the applicant, and other relevant documentation that demonstrates pedagogical qualifications. In addition to submitting written documentation, possible appointees will be required to meet for an interview, and to give a trial lecture and/or a seminar.

The appointee is expected to be involved in teaching and student supervision in degree programs at all levels. In particular, teaching and supervision of master and doctoral students who specialize in Energy, Natural Resources, and the Environment will be important tasks.

The appointee must comply with the prevailing provisions for the position. In accordance with a personnel policy that the composition of the staff should reflect the make-up of the general population of the country in terms of gender and cultural diversity, women and people with ethnic minority backgrounds are particularly invited to apply.

Salary is negotiable according to the State Salary Scale for the position as Professor (code 1013). NHH offers a favourable membership in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
