New Assistant Professor

Chiara Canta (32) has taken up a position as Assistant Professor at NHH's Department of Economics.

Canta is from Italy and joined NHH 1 August. After completing her undergraduate studies in Torino, Canta qualified for a PhD in Toulouse.

She finished her PhD in 2010 and has been Post-doctoral fellow at CORE, Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium.

Her research focuses on health economics, public economics and industrial organization. Canta is particularly interested in the regulation of health care markets.

"NHH is a great place. It's a place where I can interact with many economists having research interests similar to mine. The quality of the research here was also a main factor for coming to NHH".

"How do you find Bergen so far?"

"It's a nice city and quite spectacular. It's also been relatively sunny, so I think I have been lucky so far."
