NHH and AFF amongst Europe's top 20

On Monday, the Financial Times (FT) announced this year's ranking of the world's best open executive programmes, Executive Education. NHH and AFF are jointly ranked 17th in Europe and 37th in the world. This is our best ranking ever.

- This is an excellent result. The ranking confirms that our participants are increasingly satisfied and that we offer a programme that can compete with the best at the international level, says NHH Rector Jan I. Haaland.

NHH and the Administrative Research Institute (AFF) participate jointly in the ranking, with AFF's Solstrand Programme, the AFF Young Leaders Programme and NHH's Corporate Finance programme, among other things. NHH and AFF took part for the first time in 2008, when they were ranked 49th.

- We have improved our ranking every year, which is very good. This year's results show that we are improving in every aspect relating to academic quality. Participants say that the utility value is high, and there is great demand for the programmes, says Mai Vik, Managing Director of AFF.

- AFF's recent management survey shows that young executives face considerable challenges in adjusting to the role and everyday life of an executive. Access to new knowledge is therefore particularly important to young executives.

In the ranking, the Financial Times measures the quality of open, non-degree management development programmes based on feedback from participants and reporting from the institutions themselves. NHH and AFF score particularly well on content, learning outcome and goal achievement.

On top of this year's ranking we find IMD in Switzerland, followed by IESE Business School in Spain and Thunderbird School of Global Management in the USA.

The Financial Times has also ranked in-house programmes. NHH/AFF earn high scores for goal achievement and 'value for money' in this segment.
