Nina Skage New Director at NHH

Nina Skage (51) is NHH's new director. "Skage is a highly skilled and experienced leader who will fit perfectly in the NHH group," says Rector Frøystein Gjesdal.

Nina Skage comes from a position as Director R&S of Communications and Personnel & Organisational Development at Rieber & Søn, where she led the integration of Rieber into Orkla.

Skage has held several managerial positions in the company since 1993, including Product Manager, Market Director, Director of Communication and Director of the Food Service business unit. She has been a part of the Group Management Team since 2008. Skage is a graduate in economics and business management, St. Cloud State University, USA.

"NHH is one of Norway's most reputable higher education and research institutions, and I have great respect for the work that's done at the school. I look forward to contributing with my competence and experience, and to help developing NHH even further in close cooperation with faculty, students and staff," Skage says.

Nina Skage was formally appointed by NHH's board Friday, 6 September. As Director she will be in charge of NHH's administrative activities. Rector Frøystein Gjesdal is the most senior representative of the faculty, is chairman of the board of NHH and acts as the official representative of the school. He has also been in charge of the process of finding the right candidate for the director position.

"We were looking for a person with extensive leadership experience, excellent communication skills and strong results. Nina Skage fulfills all our expectations. She is an economics and business management graduate, she knows the NHH Group well and she has long and broad managerial experience from one of Norway's leading brand environments. I expect her to further professionalize the organization. This is highly important in securing NHH's position as a leading European business school," says Rector Frøystein Gjesdal.

Skage will take up her position at NHH in January 2014.
