'I am pleased that there is a stable and good labour market for business graduates from NHH. The number of graduates has increased significantly in recent years, without this affecting their chances of landing good and relevant jobs,' says Rector Frøystein Gjesdal.

The Labour Market Survey is an annual survey of how NHH graduates are received in the labour market. This year's survey shows that just over 92 per cent of the students who graduated in spring 2013 have landed a job after six months. Just over 86 per cent of the respondents said that they had a job for which their education was relevant.

The starting salaries achieved by new NHH graduates is also increasing steadily. The average salary has now reached NOK 445,000, compared with NOK 431,000 the year before. With bonuses, overtime pay and additional benefits, their average pay is NOK 507,000.

The four most important sectors for new NHH graduates are the consultancy sector, accountancy and auditing, the banking/financial sector and the petroleum sector. In recent years the proportion of students who get a job in accounting/auditing or banking/finance has declined, however. Jobs in the consultancy sector have increased during the same period. As many as 27 per cent of last year's NHH graduates got a job in the consultancy sector.

Nine out of ten NHH graduates find a job in Norway. Half the graduates find jobs in Oslo, while almost a quarter stay in Bergen.

NHH's Labour Market Survey in brief:

- 75.9 per cent got a job before graduating.

- 92.3 per cent had landed a job six months after graduating. That is slightly below last year's record level, but on a par with the preceding years.

- 27 per cent of the graduates got a job in consultancy, 15 per cent in accounting/auditing, and 10 per cent in banking/insurance/finance and petroleum, respectively.

- The average pay including supplements, was NOK 507,000, compared with NOK 502,000 the year before.

- 89 per cent get a job in Norway. 51.5 per cent get a job in Oslo, 23.5 per cent in Bergen and 9.7 per cent in Stavanger.

278 people responded to the survey. That is a response rate of 53.7 per cent.
